Newsflash – internet nerds still social pariahs!
This comes straight from a judge’s ruling, so it’s practically a law.
Okay, so it’s from a judge in Britain, but I bet it holds true in the US.
A woman tried to claim her ex boyfriend was harrassing her by sending her a facebook friend request. The judge ruled that this was not implying that they were friends in real life.
A British judge has made official what many of us have long suspected – that being “Facebook friends” with someone doesn’t necessarily make you their friend.
“If it’s certainly possible, I would very much encourage people to make use of their real-life friends and use these [networking sites] as a supplement,” he said.
So, nerds – if you are “facebook friends” with that one hot girl who talked to you because you sat next to each other in one class that does not make you best friends.
