Who needs economics when you learn consumerism every day?

The economy isn’t just hitting the auto industry and the white collar workers. Teachers, who notoriously have a hard time with money in the classrooms, are seeing their already meager budgets reduced more.

One teacher has found an interesting solution by selling adspace on the exams he gives to his students. Right now they are innoculous tiny word ads that are similar to yearbook ads. Something the community businesses do to “support edcuation” and garner good will.

However, I can’t see this as going anywhere good. Some parents will resent the businesses for trying to sell their children at a place they can’t ignore it. Further, how long till this becomes the soda machine style sponsorship schools have used in the past, where suddenly the golden arches are strewn across every homework assignment along with a coupon for a big mac?

  1. You’re unfairly giving all pc’s a bad name. W/ PC’s you get what you pay for.

  2. You make a good point, but on the wrong post. You are talking about my auto post: http://jonathanarogers.com/2008/12/04/vertical-integration-is-auto-industry-problem/?referer=sphere_related_content/

I think you are correct. I think you are right. Splitting the car companies up might create three different engine companies (the GM, Ford and Chrysler versions) maybe one would be budget and one would luxury.

The question is do you think this is a good idea?
