Virginia Alcohol Laws
Ran across a video critiquing Virginia’s Alcohol Laws. There are some interesting hmmm moments in there that make you wonder how things got like that, and why someone doens’t fix it. It does have a bit of a libertarian/anti-government vibe to it, but it is an entertaining watch.
Also, next time you are in a bar, and they give you a weird rule about how many drinks you can order or something, remember, they might now have a choice – it might be a funny state law.
Some of the interesting ones:
- Bars can sell glass of beer and shot of something at the same time, but not a shot INSIDE a glass of beer.
- Can only be served two drinks – but the amount of alcohol is not regulated as much. So two long island iced teas is allowed, but three shots is not.
- No Drinking Games in bars.
- No Advertising Happy Hour specials outside of a bar/restaurant
