Well, after using Windows 8 Preview right from the preview-release date, till now, I can say that it has enraptured me. It crashed just twice(a good record for any pre-alpha OS, and even better as it is Windows), and all my computing work is handled on it. The only thing troubling me is the lack of Open With… in the Metro start menu. Overall, a good OS :)

I think its harder to recognize the “memes” until after the fact as well. Think of all the You know you grew up in the 1990′s if meme’s out there. There is a 90′s culture that we can very readily identify, and there has been for the 00′s too, its just takes a while to sift through all of it to find the touchstones.

Double negatives are still bad even when you are using them as a rhetorical flourish. Compare that with “I believe these are related”.

Another thought. With AT&T, every month your early termination fee goes down after the first year. To jump to Verizon this month, I would incur a $175 ETF from AT&T. Compare this to the $250 penalty AT&T would charge me to upgrade early. See what this means? It would be cheaper to leave for Verizon than to stay with AT&T.

It’s really a decision by the carriers – they’re the ones who were eating the subsidy, not Apple. So I think the real question is: Is this a bad decision for AT&T? I could see early adopters who signed on when the iPhone was exclusive to AT&T now switching when their contracts run out to Verizon, which has better service in many areas. Further hurting ATT is the fact that the iPhone now supports GSM and CDMA in the same phone, so users with Verizon will now be able to use their iPhones in Europe (one of the reasons I have stayed with AT&T).

It will definitely be interesting to see what happens next Summer.
